Registration Instructions

We've tried to make the registration process as simple as possible! Although you'll notice that there are multiple pages to the registration process, each page is just asking for basic information like names, dietary restrictions, food preferences, and payment information. If you are having any difficulty with the registration process, please e-mail us at 2017Congress@hearingvoicesusa.org so that we can help!

Go straight to the registration process by clicking here, or read on if you want to go over the instructions first.

PLEASE ALSO BE SURE TO CHECK THE REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICY.

To get started, create an account:

  1. If you haven't already created an account, click 'create an account'
  2. Next, you'll need to select a username (can be just about anything, including your e-mail if you'd like) and password (although it will encourage you to use a strong password with capitalized letters and other symbols, you can make it as simple as you like, too)
  3. After that, enter your first and last names in the designated spaces
  4. To complete the process, click on the check box next to 'I'm not a robot' and follow any instructions that pop up

PLEASE NOTE: When we first set up the website, it required you to confirm your account registration through e-mail. However, that was causing problems, so we took that step out. If you are someone who signed up back then and got stuck in the 'confirmation' process, you may have trouble signing in now. One quick solution is to just create a new account with a different e-mail, or follow the instructions below to try re-setting your password.

If you forgot your password:

Go to the registration page

  1. Click login
  2. Above the login text, you will see gray/white buttons (login, request new password, sign up). Click on 'request new password'.
  3. Enter your username or e-mail address in space provided.
  4. Click the box next to 'I'm not a robot', and follow the instructions.
  5. Check your e-mail for a link to help you login and re-set your password

Once your account is created:

Once you've created your account, the site should automatically log you in and take you back to the homepage. At that point, you'll be able to register yourself and as many other people as you'd like. To proceed, you will need to:

  • Click on the registration link again

PAGE 1 of Registration

All you're really doing here is noting the number and type of tickets you want to reserve for each part of the Congress. Here's a bit more about each type of ticket and different part of the Congress for which you may register:

  • Intervoice Day: Intervoice day is separate from the Congress. You can register for Intervoice Day and the Congress both, or just one or the other. Indicate whether or not you and anyone else you are registering wants to sign up for Intervoice Day by entering the number of tickets you would like for that day (August 16).
  • Fully Waged/Fully Employed: For anyone who you are registering that works full-time (or has other substantial financial resources), we ask that you select this option. Just enter the number of people you are registering who fit this definition in the white box to the right.
  • Part-time Waged/Part-time Employed: We understand that some people you are registering may not be working full-time, so we've provided a sliding scale. Enter the number of people you are registering who are only working part-time in the white box to the right of this option.
  • Unwaged/Unemployed: We want the conference to be as accessible as possible, including to people who aren't working at all and don't have other substantial financial resources available. Enter the number of people you are registering who aren't working and don't otherwise have substantial financial resoruces in the white box to the right of this option.
  • BBQ Ticket: On the evening of Thursday, August 17, we will be hosting a barbecue dinner event at the Congress. This is meant as a social and networking opportunity and requires a separate registration. Enter the number of people you are registering for the barbecue in the white box to the right.

Once you have completed all entries, click on 'register' at the bottom of the page.

Page 2 of Registration

On the second page, you'll be asked to confirm more specifics, like the names of everyone you're registering, language, and dietary needs. Note that you'll be asked to list everyone's name for each separate part: Intervoice Day, the Congress and the barbecue. This is because - in some cases - people will be registering different names for each separate part. We apologize for the repetitiveness if you're someone who is registering the same exact people for each section! (Fortunately, it will automatically enter your own name.)

Here is some detail about each section:

  • Your information: This should just be a confirmation of your e-mail and name. The system will automatically enter this information for you based on the information you used to create your account.
  • Intervoice Day: Here is where you will enter the names of each person you're registering for Intervoice Day (Wednesday, August 16).
  • Fully Waged/Fully Employed: Here is where you will enter the names of each person you're registering at the full rate for the Congress. You'll also be asked to check off which language (English and/or Spanish) each person is fluent in, whether ot not they need American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services, and whether or not they will be applying for Continuing Education Credits of any kind. After that, you'll also be asked to identify each person's preference for the boxed lunch that will be served on Thursday, August 17 (both the lunch itself and the side).
  • Part-time Waged/Part-time Employed: Here is where you will enter the names of each person you're registering at the part-time rate for the Congress. As with the fully employed section, you'll also need to identify language, ASL, Continuing Ed, and food preferences.
  • Unwaged/Unemployed: Here is where you will enter the names of each person you're registering at the unemployed rate for the Congress. As with the prior two sections, you'll also need to identify language, ASL, Continuing Ed, and food preferences.
  • BBQ Ticket: Here is where you will enter the names of each person you're registering for the Barbecue on the evening of Thursday, August 17.

Once you have completed all entries, click on 'register' at the bottom of the page.
